Neck Rejuvenation

Dr. Metin Demir  ·  6 min read

The neck is one of the fastest areas to betray ageing. Thin skin, the continuous movement of the platysma muscle and sun exposure age the neck far earlier than the face — yet it is the most commonly skipped area in any rejuvenation plan. With the right protocols, lasting renewal in this region is achievable.

Why Does the Neck Age So Fast?

Neck skin contains far fewer sebaceous glands and less collagen than facial skin. This structural difference makes it more vulnerable to sun damage, dryness and loss of elasticity. The superficial platysma muscle loses tone with age, setting the stage for banding and sagging. Add to that the modern "tech neck" phenomenon — early creasing from prolonged forward-flexed posture over devices — and neck rejuvenation becomes both an aesthetic and a medical priority.

Common Complaints

Horizontal neck lines ("necklace lines") originate in the deep dermis and cannot be addressed by standard moisturisers. Platysma bands become especially visible during smiling or speaking. Submental fat accumulation and skin sagging frequently coexist.

Treatments We Apply

Neck mesotherapy: hyaluronic acid, peptide and vitamin blends are injected to provide deep hydration and stimulate collagen. Biostimulators such as Profhilo and Nucleofill use neck-specific protocols.

Micro-Botox: small, superficial doses across the platysma bands and neck skin soften banding and sharpen the jawline with a "Nefertiti lift" effect. Pore size and oiliness on the surface also improve.

Liquid lift protocols: combined injection protocols nourish both surface and deep layers, providing more comprehensive renewal than fillers or mesotherapy alone.

Thread lift: for marked sagging, PDO threads combine mechanical lift with collagen stimulation. Neck thread effects can last 12–18 months.

Session Plan

A typical neck rejuvenation programme involves 3–4 sessions at 4-week intervals. Skin radiance and a fresher fullness appear 2–3 weeks after the first session. After the full course, horizontal lines regress noticeably and platysma bands soften.
